The views from the island across the water to the mountains of Argyll Ardnamurchan and Mull are quite outstanding. He describes a walk at the south end as one of the finest walks in Scotland and views that are unequalled anywhere br / br / br / br / Lismore is situated a few miles north of Oban which is about 2 hours by car from Glasgow or 3 hours from Edinburgh. Around 10 miles long and one mile wide it is easily accessible by a 45 minute car ferry from Oban (NB THERE IS NO FUEL AVAILABLE ON LISMORE) or 10 minute crossing on the passenger ferry from Port Appin. br / br / br / br / Visitors to Lismore come largely to walk or cycle and enjoy the tranquillity of this blessed island. Others come to visit our ancient historical sites including Bronze Age Cairns Iron Age Duns and two of the oldest Medieval Stone Castles.
