Direction: The County Hotel dates back centuries and was for many years called the Salutation Hotel when the property was sold in the early 20th century the new owners renamed the hotel The County Hotel in order to help change its image as the hotel was at that time being frequented by ladies of the night . Haverfordwest castle was built about 1120 situated within the Castle wall and previously the old prison governor s house is the town museum. br / br / Down river on the west bank of the river are the ruins of an Augustinian Priory that have recently been excavated and repaired.
