Our 3 children have now left the nest and we still enjoy meeting and catering for guests from all corners of the globe. I also enjoy baking while Pat tends to the vegetable garden and his honey bees. We had always kept foreign students during their school going years. br / br / br / br / For us the most important part of of being in this business is to ensure there is a cleancomfortable and homely placefor visitors to lay their weary heads after a long day on the road.Visitors arrive at our home as complete strangers and leave as friends. We have met some lovely people who having stayed with usstill keep in touch and some who make return visits.We think that says it all. br / br / br / br / Situated just an hour from the airport is great for those who are suffering from jet-lag - they can recharge their batteries before setting off on their vacation or alternatively they can finish off their holiday here and pack up for their homeward journey hassle free. br / br / There are many places of interest in our area the most important being Loughcrew Megalithic Tombs. br / br / Guided tours of these are available at the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes (Mar 21 and Sept 21) and throughout the summer months.Visitors usually rise early and go to witness the wonderful tomb lit by the rising sun - as it has done for more than 5000 years. br / br / br / br / Also nearby are the Loughcrew Historic Gardens and site of the ruins of the family church of St Oliver Plunkett. This is also a popular wedding venueand a lovely backdrop for romantic photographs and videos.A short drive away is the village of Fore with the ancient ruins of Fore Abbey set in stunning scenery and a little further on outside Castlepollard you can visit Tullynally Castle and gardens - home of Lord Longford.
